The questions UK jobseekers ask most about their CV – answered clearly and concisely.

A UK CV includes a short personal statement, your work experience most recent first, your qualifications (GCSEs, A levels, BTEC, degree), and your skills. It should not include a photo, your date of birth, your marital status or your National Insurance number – UK employers do not need those at application stage.

Two pages of A4 is the UK norm for anyone with a few years of experience; one page is enough for school leavers and early-career applicants. Keep the most relevant experience closest to the top and leave out anything that does not support your application.
