The compliance block that decides the shortlist
- Right to work – status in one line; sponsorship is a real question in this sector, so be precise.
- DBS – enhanced with adults and children barred list where you have it, plus update service status.
- Care Certificate – completed, in progress, or willing to complete; state the date.
- Training – medication administration, moving and handling, safeguarding adults, first aid, food hygiene, with dates.
- Driving licence – essential for domiciliary rounds in rural areas.
Evidence of person-centred care
- Supported four residents with dementia through daily routines, including personal care, meals and activities.
- Administered medication to 12 residents on a set round, following MAR charts and reporting changes.
- Completed 30 domiciliary visits a week across a rural round, including pressure care and catheter monitoring.
- Raised a safeguarding concern and documented it, leading to a GP referral the same day.
Writing about people without breaching confidentiality
Describe the support, never the person. "A resident with advanced dementia" is appropriate; names, addresses and identifiable details are not, and an experienced manager will notice. Keep the evidence about what you did and what changed – continence, mobility, nutrition, engagement.
