Applying as a Early Childhood Educator: what matters
Child care in Canada is licensed by province or territory, and each one sets its own certification and ratios, so start with your credential and the province that issued it. In Ontario you register with the College of Early Childhood Educators and use the Registered Early Childhood Educator title; in British Columbia you register through the provincial ECE registry; other provinces issue certificates through their child care licensing branch.
Then show the program you run: how you plan play-based learning, how you document children's development, and how you work with families, inclusion support and any speech, occupational or behavioural therapists involved. Canada's two official languages are an asset here, so state your English and French level, and keep your vulnerable sector check, CPR level C and first aid certification current before you apply.
