A ready-made sample for this profession opens straight in the editor – you just adapt it.
Applying as a Registered Nurse (RN): what matters
US nurse recruiters screen on three things before they read your experience: your state RN license, your current BLS or ACLS certification and the units you have worked on. Put your license number, the board that issued it and the year you passed the NCLEX next to your name, then say which units you can walk onto – Med-Surg, telemetry, ICU, ER, PACU, NICU or OR.
Hospitals also want evidence that you are safe in their systems. Name the EHR you chart in (Epic, Cerner, Meditech), your typical patient assignment, and how you handle HIPAA-protected information, rapid response calls and handoffs. One page is enough with under five years of experience; go to two pages once you hold specialty certification or charge and preceptor duties.

Checklist for a successful application
Match your skills and experience precisely to the job's requirements profile. Name relevant certifications, tools, and hands-on knowledge in the upper third of your resume.
Use concrete results, figures, and metrics instead of plain lists of duties. That immediately shows hiring managers your practical value and your areas of responsibility.
Use a clear, hierarchical structure and standardized section headings. That way modern applicant tracking systems (ATS) can capture and map your data without errors.
Check spelling, grammar, and contact details thoroughly. Always save your application as a high-resolution PDF file to ensure a consistent layout on all devices.

Which license should I list on a US nursing resume?
Your state RN license, because hospitals verify it before they interview. Give the license number, the state board and the year you passed the NCLEX. If you are applying in another state, say whether you hold a multistate compact license or will apply by endorsement.
